Facebook is making changes to the Jobs Facebook product on 22 February 2022.
The jobs on Facebook products are changing. On February 22, you will no longer be able to create or post job openings for your business on Facebook. If you already have a job posting for your business on Facebook, it will end at the time of this change.
Expected changes
- Existing Facebook groups with a “Jobs” group type will be changed to the “general” group type and the “Jobs” group type will no longer be available.
- You will no longer have the ability to distribute free jobs via a partner intergration with the jobs on Facebook API
- Jobs on Facebook will no longer be available on both Facebook lite app and mobile website. This applies for both employers and job seekers.
- The jobs on Facebook browser will no longer be available.
The jobs on Facebook are only shutting down outside the United States and Canada. Employers in the United States and Canada will continue to use the jobs on Facebook tools to create job postings from their page at no cost both on the Facebook app and Facebook desktop website. Moreover, they can choose to boost their posts as ads.
They will also continue to be able to manage their jobs applications and view all details regarding their job posts (boosted and non-boosted) through the inbox and the manage jobs section of their page.
Aside from that, jobseekers in those two countries will continue applying for positions using the job on Facebook product features such as Apply now on the post. This will bring them to a detailed view and then to the application form.
